Another scam that is floating around right now is one where a potential buyer offers you more than your asking price on the timeshare.  This should raise a red flag but people are greedy so they would enjoy the additional revenue.  They will instruct you to just refund the difference to them.  Once you have paid them, magically the funds that they paid you will disappear and you will end up having given them your own money.  Not a smart thing to do.

Another scam circulating involves having potential buyers offering to buy your timeshare at the cost that you want while simultaneously selling you another vacation package that is usually a bogus offer.  Avoid this and use common sense.  If what is going on is too good to be true most likely it is.

Like anything, Values on your timeshare can fluctuate dramatically depending on many factors.  Some of which include current market conditions and local activities.  There could be a spike in the number of people selling similar timeshares at a certain time, providing an influx of supply and saturating a market thus devaluating your current timeshare value.

You could also be blessed with a spike in the interest of your timeshare as the market dictates a very limited supply of the timeshare you have to offer.  This could leave you with an entirely advantageous opportunity.

One thing to note is that a timeshare is not a traditional piece of real estate such as a house, and it does not normally appreciate in value.  There are rare circumstances where it could, but for the most part it is not likely.  This means that your resale value, or value that you will end up receiving in the end would be much less than what you actually paid for.

Market research on timeshare sales have dictated that timeshare sales have typically been within 30-50% of the amount you actually paid for the timeshare.  This will leave you losing a decent chunk of change.

The best way to get an accurate assessment of the value of your timeshare would be to take a look at the timeshares with the same information and see how much they are going for.  Now this information should be used as a gauge and not as a standard as some of the people could have no idea what they are looking for and could be asking for way more than what a standard asking price should be.  In addition to that, it could be on the other end of the spectrum and they could be charging way less than what it is worth.

The important thing is to attempt to get what you are willing to get for it.  You have to be realistic in setting the value of your timeshare if you want to sell it quickly.  As with anything that you might want to have
